Arthur Peter Lobsinger, WWII Veteran , lifelong resident of Hanover, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday , March 29, 2017. He was 94.
Born on November 3, 1922 in Hanover to the late Isadore and Vera (nee Kalte) Lobsinger. He enlisted in 1942, serving overseas with the Royal Australian Air Force at 463 Waddington; a member of the bomber crew Lancaster “JOX “. After his discharge he began working at the Hanover branch of the Pilot Insurance Company until his retirement in 1987.
Arthur was a founding member of the Saugeen RC Flyers, building, flying, crashing and bragging about his model planes for many years.
Survived by his daughter Ann Lobsinger of Hanover and his son Allen (Joan) Lobsinger of London. Much loved grandfather of Adam (Laura), Trevor, Jason (Sonya) and David (Felicia) and great – grandfather of Anthony, Iris and Ethan. Predeceased by his beloved wife Lois (nee Weidner) Lobsinger, his brother John and brothers-in-law Lance (Audrey) and George (Kay).
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation to celebrate his life at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday , April 4 from 2-4 pm. The Canadian Legion will have a service honouring him at 1:45 pm. Cremation with inurnment in Hanover Columbarium.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy
