It is with peace in our hearts that the family of Arthur Gronvall announce his passing at the age of 83.
Art was born on April 10, 1934 in Rycroft AB, the youngest child of his family of eight. Growing up on a farm as a mischievous boy, he learned many skills to carry him through his life. His interest of heavy machinery led him to an accomplished lifetime career as a heavy duty mechanic. Employed by Ferguson Supply, R Angus, and until his retirement, County of Grande Prairie.
Motor biking, camping, fishing, barbecues, and entertaining were some of his favourite pastimes, as well as grooming their acreage with the help of his John Deer.
In 1970, Art married Ruth and together they united two families.
Surviving family are his wife of 47 years, Ruth (Peebles); children: Wes (Angi) Gronvall, Lyle (Bobbi) Gronvall, Shannon Gronvall, Leona Satter, Rick (Wendy) Buchanan, Linda (Rob) McMillan, Brenda Korpan (Ken), and Donald Chidlow; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and 4 nephews; his brother John (Lorraine) Gronvall; sisters Alberta Monell and Phyliss (Dave) Zaharah.
Art was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Maria (Christina) Gronvall; and other family members: Hamilton Gronvall, Edna (Dave) Evans, Harriett (Jack) Campbell, Allan (Claudia) Gronvall, George Monell, Ken Melnychuck, Barry Buchanan, and Chris Roche.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation – Respiratory Department (10409 98 St. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 2E8).
