Anthony and Sophia Duivenvoorden
The deaths of both Sophia Duivenvoorden and Anthony Duivenvoorden of Jacquet River occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, November 17 and November 19, respectively. Born in Rijpwetering, Netherlands, she was the daughter of Jacobus and Anna (Heemskerk) Juffermans; he was the son of Hubertus and Catharina (Borst) Duivenvoorden.
It is with heavy hearts that we can say these two beautiful souls have taken their journey together, not even 32 hours apart, and after 65 years of marriage. They truly had a bond like no other, that carried them right to their final days and back into each others’ arms.
Anthony and Sophia are survived by their children Hubert (Claudia) of Jacquet River, Jack (Diane) of Benjamin, Catherine Gow of Windsor, Ontario, Mary Ann Vaudan (Robert) of Thorsby, Alberta, Linda Duivenvoorden (Robert Watson) of Sidney, British Columbia, and William (Joan) of Jacquet River, as well as their twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Their funeral will be held at St. Gabriel’s Church, Jacquet River, Wednesday morning, November 22, 2017 at 11 o’clock. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
