She is survived by her Sister and Brother In-Law Bob and Carmel Legault and many loved Nieces and Nephews and a large extended family of Spratt descendents in Ottawa and the Valley.
Lee was born and raised on Heron Rd at Hedgedale Dairy Farm. Lee and her family had a wonderful life in Ottawa where she pursued many entrepreneurial endeavors. In 1974 Lee and Tom became owners of Century21 McVeigh Realty and after Tom passed away she moved Renfrew to be with Larry.
The Town of Renfrew embraced Lee and her family with open hearts. One of Lee’s greatest desires was to give back to the community of Renfrew that had shown her and her family so much love, especially after Lee and Larry’s car accident. She volunteered at The Bonnechere Manor, was a Charter member of Friends of the Disabled Renfrew and a Founder of The Sunshine Coach of Renfrew. And she was involved in many fundraising activities. All of these efforts resulted in Lee being named the 2016 Citizen of the Year. Lee was an active member of the Renfrew Curling Club as well as The Renfrew Golf Club where she became the first, and to date, only woman President.
Lee loved her family, friends, dancing, travelling, golf, curling, her volunteer work and the odd party. Lee was the best example of a fine accomplished, courageous, fun loving woman who always took the high road of dignity and strength. She lived her life “Her Way” . She will never be forgotten. On behalf of Lee her family would like to thank Dr. Jonker and staff, Dr. Pinard, the Renfrew Hospital Chemo staff and the volunteers and staff at the Hospice Renfrew.
Professional Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anderson Funeral Home, 22 Raglan Street South, Renfrew. Memorial visitation will be held at the RCAF Wing 164 Argyle St, Renfrew on Thursday February 23rd, 2017 from 3.00pm-8.00pm. Memorial Service will be held at 2.30 pm on Friday February 24th,2017 also at the RCAF Wing.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Sunshine Coach (Friends of the Disabled, Renfrew), or Hospice Renfrew, can be made online at www.zohrfuneralhome.com and would be appreciated by the family.
