Anita Marie MacQueen, age 93 a long time resident of Reserve Mines passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Daniel V. and Mary Ann (Kehoe) Walker. Anita worked for many years alongside her husband Donald Gordon at the CO- OP Grocery Store, Main Street, Reserve Mines.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Glenda Marlene MacQueen (Alex), Calgary, a step daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Munroe (Earl), Sydney, her sister, Jean, Ottawa, three grandchildren, Ally, Marcus, Emily, Calgary and three step grandchildren, Melissa Campbell-Brace, NL, Joe Campbell, Yukon and Blair MacKenzie, Sydney Mines.
Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her husband, Donald Gordon MacQueen, ten siblings, Ella, Sarah, Ambrose, John, Thomas Earl, Daniel, Sadie, Edward, Mary, Florence and a step daughter, Sandra Marie MacKenzie of Port Morien.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 1 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines with Fr. Dan Boudreau officiating. Private interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
If so desired, memorial donations in Anita’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
