Obituary
Obituary of Angelina Medved
Medved, Angelina – Passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital with her loving daughter and her “favourite son-in-law” by her side on Saturday December 2, 2017 at the age of 78 years. After a lengthy illness, Our dear Lord took her hand, called her home and she is finally at peace. Re-united with her beloved husband Steve (2005). Loving Mama to Vesna (Sam Hana). Cherished Baba to Greg Bene (Alanah) and Jason Bene (Sigourney). Adoring and proud great- Baba to Luka and Niko. Beloved sister of Annie (the late Peter) Orec, Kathy (the late Steve) Peso, and Mary Kurjancic and their families. She leaves behind family, nieces, nephews and countless friends, both here and in Croatia.
Angelina was born in Croatia in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1970 where she made her home with her husband and daughter. She was full of life and had love and pride for her family. Angelina enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and loved music and dancing. Special thanks to the caring and compassionate doctors and nurses on Ward 5W at the Hamilton General Hospital. Also, many thanks to her nurse “Thomas” who went above and beyond with his compassion and gentle care during her last hours.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday between 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be said in the funeral home at 2:30 pm. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 316 Queenston Street. Burial will follow the mass at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
