Andrew (Andy) Love

Andrew (Andy) Love 21 décembre 1942 – 26 mai 2017

On Friday, May 26th, 2017 at the age of 74 Andy Love of Sherwood Park passed away surrounded by his loving family after battling Cancer (melanoma) for over a year. He will be remembered as a dedicated, hard working family man with a compassionate heart and great sense of humour.
Left with many fond memories is his loving wife of 51 years, Maureen and his daughter Andrea (Matt) Perrotta and son Andrew (Morena) Love. His beloved grandchildren: Natasha (Steve) Cullen, Ryan (Rachel) Perrotta, Ken (Lesley) Jean; and Austin Love; great-granddaughter Blakely Jean; brother Ken (Rene) Barron and sister Maureen (Ged) Atkinson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Andy brought his family to Alberta, Canada from Consett, County Durham, England in 1977 and never looked back. He worked hard as a welder, enjoyed playing soccer and golf with the lads, but fell in love with lake life. He had a vision of creating a place where his growing family could go and be together while enjoying nature at it’s best. Many hours were spent on the water laughing, sitting around the campfire sharing stories and eating the best steak dinners as a family. These memories will be forever in our hearts as will he.
He was predeceased by his father Andrew Love (1948), brother Edward Barron (1969), daughter Amanda Love (1981) and mother Doreen Esther Barron (1996).
The funeral service is being held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, Range Road 232 and Estate Drive, Sherwood Park. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave NW Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2. On-line donations are accepted.
