With sadness, we, the family of Amable Joseph
“Mabbie” Landry, regret to announce his passing on Monday,
October 23, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital,
Sydney.
Born April 4, 1933, he was the son of the late James and
Elizabeth (David) Landry.
A heavy duty mechanic, Mabbie worked at Scotia Limestone and
later, as a heavy equipment operator at the Lingan Power Plant, from
which he retired. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony Daniel
parish.
Mabbie is survived by his wife, Ramona “Mona”
(Smith); daughter, Elizabeth (Marty) Burke, Sydney; son, Joseph (Kerry
MacVicar), Albert Bridge; sister, Della Stone, St. Peters; brother,
Leo (Marie), Rockdale; grandchildren, Angela Burke and Nikki Holland
(Joel Trask).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother,
Alfred.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held at Our
Lady of Fatima Church on Thursday, October 26 at 11 a.m., with Rev.
Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment will take place at a later
date.
Memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes or a charity of
your choice.
