Passed away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear Long Term Care Facility on Monday, February 20, 2017, Alvin W. Somers of Carbonear, age 64 years. Predeceased by parents: Abraham and Harriett; brothers: Ralph, Reuben, and Lloyd; sister: Ada. Leaving to mourn, two sons: Trevor (Colleen) and Trent, and their mother, Josephine, all of Carbonear; two grandchildren: Haley and Jessica; three step-grandchildren: Devon, Jason, and Carleen; two brothers: Art (Jessie), Carbonear and Jerry (Shirley), Victoria; three sisters: Bernice Dean, Victoria, Doris (Bob) Mackey, Mount Pearl, and Avis Stacey, Baie Verte; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Friday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Friday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Carbonear. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to be held on Monday, February 27 at 10:30 a.m. from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Carbonear.
