ALLAN “ROSS” MCBRIDE (1931 – 2017)
Peacefully, at the Brantford General Hospital on Friday, April 14, 2017, Allan “Ross” McBride, formerly of Tillsonburg, passed away at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband for 64 years of the Late Jessie (Bain) McBride (2014). Loving father of Robert and his wife Julie of Petawawa, Alan and his wife Janet of Eden and Alice Peterson and her husband Walter of Brantford. Proud Grandfather of 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Wayne McBride and his wife Patricia of Hamilton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William John and Edna Lavera (Frayer) McBride, 2 grandchildren Christopher Lee McBride, Tammy Louise Churcher, 1 great-grandson Chad James McBride, 2 sisters Vera Nechleput, Greta Jamieson and 3 brothers James, Clare and Bernard McBride. Allan was a Life Member of the Ontario I.O.O.F. Locally, Allan was a member of the Tillsonburg Otter Lodge #50. Over the years, Allan served as Past Noble Grand, Past District Deputy, Past Grand Guardian and Past Grand Master. The Lodge, like his family was extremely important to him. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. There will be a I.O.O.F. Memorial Service held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Allan will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Delhi Cemetery. Memorial donations to Camp Trillium or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the McBride family.
