Allan Leroy Service
Allan Leroy Service passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on November 24, 2017 at the age of 82.
Allan was born in Arrowood, Alberta to Ferrold and William Service on April 11, 1935. He moved to Red Deer at the age of 10. While attending Lindsay Thurber High he met his high school sweetheart Isabelle and they were married in 1955.
They spent the majority of their lives in Red Deer, where Al was a Real Estate Appraiser, owning and operating Service Appraisal for 20 years. After retiring from that they built and operated Spruce Ridge Golf Course where they enjoyed many friends and family who golfed and visited them there.
After Isabelle passed away in 2002, Al was blessed with a second chance at happiness. He met Emily Hoffner through Spruce Ridge and they enjoyed many years of golf adventures until her passing.
Al is survived by his son Rand (Rick); daughter Tami Proswe (Larry) and their children; daughter Jamie and her sons Dylan and Samuel; and son Kevin (Becky) and their daughters Aubrey and Olivia; Daughter Susan Dvorsky (Geoff) and their children, Son Jake (Twilight) and daughter Paige (Devon) and her children Olivia and Vincent. He is also survived by his youngest sister Cheryl Pedersen (Charlie) and by sisters-in law Helen, Marie and Shirley and by numerous nieces and nephews.
At Al’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stars Air Ambulance.
