Allan Elmer Rae
1929-2017
Allan E. Rae of Dumfries, NB passed away May 8, 2017 at the Upper
River Valley Hospital. Allan was born in 1929 at Bristol,
Connecticut, a son of the late Walter and Annie (Bidden) Rae.
He loved the outdoors, nature, operating heavy equipment, mechanics,
socializing with friends, playing cards, helping others, reading,
hooking rugs, listening to music, but most of all, his family.
Throughout the years, he was an active member of St. Clement’s
Anglican Church, Southampton Royal Canadian Legion, the Masons and the
Shriners. No matter where he moved for work, Allan always considered
Dumfries, NB as his home.
Allan served in the US Marine Corps. He is fondly remembered for his
friendly smile, gentle hands, kind heart and occasional firm reminder
of expectations. This man of few words taught the importance of a
strong work ethic and the power of forgiveness by his example of
unconditional love.
