Alfred Michaud
In the early morning hours of April 26, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer, Alfred passed away peacefully at the Selkirk General Hospital. Alfred was predeceased by his father Thomas Michaud, mother Ruth Ann Michaud, sister Lizzie Smith, brothers Charlie, Kenny, Tommy, and Finley Michaud, brother-in-law Gilbert Whiteway, and sisters-in-law Sharon Michaud and Diane Whiteway. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years Jo-Ann, children Alfred Jr (Addie), Ian (Kim), and Diane, sister Teresa, brothers Sidney (Ivonne), James (Lila), Stanley, Barry, Mervin (Rhonda), and Ernie (Bev), sisters-in-law Eileen, Carrie, Myrna, Nancy (Morden), Jackie (Rick), Edith, and brothers-in-law Stan, Edward, Wally, Richard and Roddy, mother-in-law Helen and father-in-law Freddie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who became family.
An avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, and all around outdoorsman, Alfred loved the outdoors, but the center of his universe were his grandchildren, Saige, Nelson, Leah, Andrew, Faith, and Finley. Happiest times were spent in a room full of family, friends, and food.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1st, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk with luncheon at noon at Selkirk Friendship Centre. Alfred will be laid to rest at Wakefield following lunch with Rev. Anthon Bouw officiating.
