Albert Arnold Wierikko
Albert was born on September 8th, 1948 at Port Arthur, Ontario to Taimi and John Wierikko. He was made a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism and having faithfully received the Body and Blood of Our Lord, Albert was prepared for the journey to the Zion above and departed this life on the 18th of February, 2017.
Comforted in knowing that he is with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ are his sister Margaret; wife Kellie; son Andrew (fiancée Samantha Sutch) and his church family. Albert is also survived by Uncles Ron Doynega of Chilliwack BC and Ron Lorenson of Ottawa; Cousins Allan, Richard and Kenneth Idman, Len and Clifford Carlson, Kathy McDonagh and their families, as well as cousins and relatives in Thunder Bay, Finland and the United States.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Taimi and John Wierikko; Aunts Eleanor Doynega, Gladys Lorenson, Florence Carlson, Margaret Anderson and Uncle Tauno Anderson.
Funeral services for Albert Wierikko will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1st at Bethel Lutheran Church, 264 Wilson Street officiated by Rev. Jamie Bosma. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
“My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never parish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:27-28).
