Alan Taylor
Alan Taylor, 82, of Moncton, passed away peacefully
on Saturday December 17, 2016, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University
Hospital Centre, with his loving family by his side. Born in Oldham,
England, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Smith)
Taylor.
Alan
retired from the Royal Canadian Navy as a Fleet Chief with 22
½ years of service, followed by a 25 year career with
MacArthur’s Nurseries Inc., & Jensens Exotic Plants
Inc. He was a member of St. Philip’s Anglican Church, having
served as a Warden, Diocesan Lay Reader and he was a member of the
church choir. Alan was also the Inaugural President of the New
Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Elks Association, as well as the
Glen Abby Housing Co-Operative. In past years, Alan enjoyed
golfing at Country Meadows Golf Club and socializing with his friends
and family.
Alan
will be sadly missed by his loving wife Margaret “Peggy”
(Lebans) Taylor of Moncton; sons, Graham A. Taylor and Michael P.
Taylor (Maria) both of Gibsons, BC; step children, Kim Tatlock (Roger)
of Wolfville, NS, Lance Hayward (Shawn) of Bedford, NS, James Hayward
(Cathy) of Moncton, Darin Hayward of Havelock and Adam Hayward of
Wolfville, NS; grandchildren, Jessica and Dillon Tatlock and Justine
Hayward; very special great grandson, Landon Kelloway; brothers, Roy
Taylor (Beryl) and Bramwell Taylor (Doreen) both of Riverview and
Malcom Taylor (Joanne) of Australia; extended family, Judy
and Mitchell Olsansky; many nieces, nephews and extended family
members.
In addition to his
parents, Alan was predeceased by his brother, Raymond and sister in
law, Dorothy.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home,
1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm
and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honor Alan’s
life will be held at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, 36 Lynch
St., Moncton, on Wednesday December 21, 2016 at 11:00 am with The
Rev’d Douglas Painter presiding. Reception following the
service in the church hall.
