Service Details
LASIS, Aina – passed away quickly and peacefully on Nov 10th, 2017, on the anniversary of her late husband Evalds Lasis’ birth, at the age of 95. Aina Lasis (nee Jente) will be deeply missed by her sister Maiga Sketris, her children, Anita and Elmars, her nieces Ingrid Sketris and Rita Nycz, her nephews Paul Sketris and Juris Jente, her grandchildren Janis Charbonneau, Aija Charbonneau, Anthea Lasis, Carmen Lasis and Maeve Lasis, her newly born great-granddaughter Sofia, her son-in-law Serge Charbonneau, and her daughter-in-law Ellen McNeill. Aina was an active member of the Latvian community in Sarnia and a nurse at Sarnia General Hospital for many years. She was a fierce and strong woman with a giant heart and a gentle soul who leaves us all bereft by her absence. A funeral service will be held in Sarnia at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Friday, November 17th. at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Friday, November 17, 2017 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (www.alzheimer.ca/en/Home) or to Kristus Darz Latvian Home (www.kdlatvianhome.com).
