Aage Iversen – 2017

IVERSEN
Aage Iversen was born November 23, 1924 in Astrup, Denmark . He was the 6th of 9 children. He grew up in some of the best and worst times of the 20 century; the roaring twenties, the depression of the thirty’s and the second World War. These times forged his outlook on life. After the war he served in the Royal Danish Guards for a year. As Europe laid in ruins, he and his brother Paul joined the waves of immigrants that fanned out across the world in hopes of a brighter future. They chose Canada arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax on June 3, 1950. They worked their way across the country milking cows in Ontario until they eventually found their way to Calgary. Aage and Kristine were married on June 27, 1958. They moved to their farm in 1968 and shortly thereafter they started milking cows and shipping cream. Aage and Kristine had 2 sons Eric & John and they continue to run the day to day dairy and land operations of the farm with their families. Aage and Kristine have stayed on the farm to this day. He was always a true farmer and was still driving his tractor this spring at the age of 92. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Kristine; sons Eric and his children Laura, Lars and Noah; John (Debbie) and their children Luke and Abbey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday July 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Olds with Pastor John Lentz officiating. Interment was held prior to the service at the Hainstock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Olds & District Hospice Society. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Olds entrusted with arrangements. 403-507-8610 www.heartlandfuneralservices.com
