Obituary for Lavina Gould
July 3, 1925 – December 28, 2017
Peacefully, with her family by her side after a beautiful long life, DORIS LAVINA GOULD, 92 years, of Petrolia, passed away at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert (1985). Lavina is survived by her daughters Marilyn and Jeff Wilson of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, and Karen and Bill Bruton of Petrolia, and Donna and Larry Smale of Petrolia. Cherished grandmother of Matthew (Emma Jones) Wilson, Ryan (Tanya Bosbach) Wilson, Dana (Carl Twaddle) Wilson, Christine (Brad) Baker, Michael (Allyssa) Bruton, Amanda (Chris Annette) Bruton, Laura (Chad) Burke, Kevin (Tiffany) Smale and by her great-grandchildren, Rayne (Nate), Breya, Neva, Jaxon, Skylar, Charlee, William, Bennett and Lana. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Jeannie McCormick and Dorothy McCormick. Born in Plympton Township, Lavina was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Laura McCormick, her brothers Jack (Mary), Gordon (Addie), Earl (Nan), Buster, Ross (Lottie May), Fred (Gladys), Lloyd and Bill, and sisters, Mae (George) Pettit, Dorothy (Roy) Thomas, Lorein (Willis) Emery, Donna (Harvey) Chalmers and Lottie (Peter) Hennaert. Lavina will be remembered for her courage and determination, love of family and family celebrations. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Lambton Meadowview Villa (special thank you to Allison, Susan, Sherry, Mary) for their kindness, support and care. A funeral service will be held at Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. with one hour visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to Christ Anglican Church or C.E.E Hospital Foundation.
