John E. Hayden, of Chelmsford, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, at the age of 87.
Born in Chelmsford, he was the son of the late John P. and Jane (Chambers) Hayden. He was a carpenter before his retirement and a member of St Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, in Chelmsford.
He will be greatly missed by his two daughters Colleen (Michael Walsh) and Joan (Kevin Doyle); four sons John Hayden (Pam), Ralph Hayden (Julie), Dr. Michael Hayden (Dr. Tanya Schaefer), Robert Hayden (Cindy); one sister Carmel Kingston; five grandchildren Lana, Karen, John T., Trinda, and Ben; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Carmelita (Lita); their son Terry; sisters Annie Mullin, Mary Geikie, Pauline Veriker, Helen Harrigan; infant sister Loretta; and brothers Frank and Adrian.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017, at 11 am, from St Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, Chelmsford, with Father Leon Creamer officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, or to St Edward’s Cemetery Fund.
