Raymond Power Cavanagh – 85, of
Centreville, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in
Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Centreville, he
was a son of the late Charles and Ruth (Barnaby) Cavanagh. He had been
employed with T.P. Calkin, Steadman’s, Scotian Gold,
Rockwell Home Hardware and Cobi Foods for a number of years. He was an
avid fisherman, hunter, woodcarver and painter of folk art. He is
survived by his wife of 62 years, Doreen (Young); two daughters,
Cheryl (Kevin) Gaul, North Alton; Lynn (Don) Cavanagh-Dollard,
Centreville; three grandchildren, Lyndon Cavanagh-Dollard, CFB
Bagotville, Quebec; Caitlyn Cavanagh-Dollard, Kingston,
Ontario and Falyn Cavanagh-Dollard, Hatchet Lake, Halifax County;
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Green and
Doris McLean; a brother, George. Cremation has taken place. There will
be no visitation or funeral service, by request. A private family
service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made
to Osteoporosis Canada or Glaucoma Research Society of Canada.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
