1935-2017
KOROSIS, Georgia … Passed away peacefully on Tuesday December
19, 2017. Loving wife of the late John. Beloved mother of sons Harry
(Gina) and Peter (fiancé Valerie Astudillo). Loving Yiayia of
Yianni, Eirini, Theo and the late Peter. Dear sister of the late
Martha Zacharias (late George) of Skala, Nafpaktias, Greece; the late
Kostas Rigas (Nicolitsa) residing in Nafpaktos, Greece; late Ann
Brigis (late John), George Rigas (Lorraine), late Nick Rigas (Argiri)
and Christos Rigas (Tina), all residing in the Niagara Region. Dear
sister-in-law of George Korosis (Maria) residing in Chicago; Assimakis
Korosis (Angelliki) and Stamatoula Mentzas (Eleftherios) residing in
Montreal; and, Christos Korosis (Voula) and Andreas Korosis residing
in Denver. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada,
U.S.A. and Greece. Georgia was the third oldest of the seven children
of the late Athanasios and Kaliope Rigas, of Skala, Nafpaktias,
Greece. Georgia emigrated from Greece to Canada in search of a better
life for her and her family on October 23, 1968. Georgia was a loyal
and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, devoted to
her faith. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in
life. The Korosis family wishes to extend sincere thanks and
appreciation for the excellent, attentive and compassionate care
provided Georgia by the medical, nursing and support staff of Hospice
Niagara. Family and friends may call at PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL
CHAPEL, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Thursday,
December 21, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be
celebrated at ST. KATHARINE GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, on Friday,
December 22, 2017 at 11 am. Rite of committal to follow at Victoria
Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations are encouraged
to St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church (905-685-3028), 585 Niagara
Street, St. Catharines, Ontario, L2M 3P6 or to Hospice Niagara
(905-984-8766), 403 Ontario Street, Unit 2, St. Catharines, Ontario,
