Hilda Marie Lawrenson-Fox
LAWRENSON-FOX, Hilda Marie (nee Boldrick) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, Dec 16, 2017 in her 93rd year at Moira Place nursing home in Tweed, Ont.
Hilda was raised in Thurlow on the family farm and after she married Raymond Lawrenson, moved to Belleville where she raised her family. She moved to Frankford with her second husband Gerald Fox and after his passing moved back to Belleville. Hilda was the beloved daughter of the late William and Alma Boldrick (nee Johnson). Loving wife of the late Raymond Douglas Lawrenson ( 1982 ) and late Gerald Fox (1998). Cherished mother to Donna Lawrenson (Bruce), Ross Lawrenson (Lynn) and Darlene Davis. She was pre-deceased by her only brother Norman Boldrick. Hilda will be missed by her grandchildren, Whitney Davis, Andrew Lawrenson, Bryan Lawrenson and was predeceased by her grandson, Wyatt Davis (2000).
Hilda would be the first to say she had a good life blessed with family, friends and adventures. She was a social butterfly who belonged to square dance and trailer clubs, bowled, played cards both bridge and euchre, enjoyed crafts, travelled, regularly attended the Stirling & Pinnacle Playhouse and volunteered for many activities at Eastminster United Church. She also experienced cottage life on both Crowe Lake and Stoco Lake enjoying boating and especially fishing. In her early years, she graduated from the Ontario Business College, working at the Bata Shoe Factory in the office, at the Royal Bank as head cashier and later at the Belleville Utilities. In 1965 she bought a franchise for a home-party based cosmetic line called Fashion Two Twenty and built a very successful organization. She attended conferences across Canada and the United States, winning many trips abroad and eventually achieving status as number one distributor in Canada. She operated her business for 51 years, serving her customers till she was 92. Hilda will be dearly missed by her many friends and remembered by all for her boundless energy, tenacity, zest for life, creativity and willingness to help those in need. We offer our sincere thanks to the staff of Moira Place for their excellent care and compassion extended to Mom during her residency and especially in her final days.
Friends and family are invited to the Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968), 150 Church St., Belleville, on Thursday, December 28th for a celebration of Hilda’s life. Visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, funeral service at 1:00 pm followed by the reception. Interment in the Victoria Cemetery, Plainfield, will be held at a later time.
