1936-2017
With a broken Heart, we announce the passing of Frances Jane (Leavitt)
Hatt, wife of Arnold W. Hatt, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St.
Stephen NB on December 11, 2017. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on March
27, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Eldon and Mildred (Craig)
Leavitt.
Frances was a school teacher and taught in many local schools. When
she left teaching she worked with her husband Arnold as book keeper
for A. Hatt Construction, which they ran together for 55 years.
Frances is survived by her husband Arnold; daughter: Janet (Ross)
Whittier; grandson: Darren (Olivia) Whittier; granddaughter-in-law:
Richelle; great-grandchildren: Gavin and Renay; several nieces,
nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Frances was
predeceased by her grandson: Jeffery Whittier; one brother: Eugene;
sister: Alice; and brother-in-law: Jim.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Frances’ wishes, there
will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from the St.
George Baptist Church, St. George NB on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at
2:00 pm. The family will meet with friends at a reception after the
service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated by the family.
