Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Earle William MacQuarrie passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 92. He was the husband of the late Ellen (Geddes) MacQuarrie. Born in Scotch Settlement NB, he was the son of the late Henry and Katherine (Hannington) MacQuarrie.
Earle was a 31 year resident of McQuade NB and currently resided at Golden Years Estates, Moncton. He retired as manager of CN Work Equipment, Atlantic Region. After his retirement, he became the trusted neighborhood mechanic for his friends in the farming community.
Earle was an avid horseman and together with his son Leigh, owned several champion show horses.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Leigh (Margaret) of Canning NS, Allan (Brenda) of McQuade NB, Doug (Connie) of Shediac River NB and Alyson of Calgary AB; his grandchildren: Tammy, Timothy, David, Jamie, Erin, Terri, Alexander and Leigh: his nine great-grandchildren; his brother Ronald from Rothsay NB as well as several nieces and nephews. Earle will also be greatly missed by his devoted K-9 companion, Ruby.
Besides his wife Ellen and parents, he is predeceased by his son Brian; his brothers, John and Ivan; his sisters: Beulah, Mildred, Gladys, Eileen, Kay and Thelma.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 20 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home (1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton), followed by a reception. Interment will take place Fair Haven Cemetery.
Donations in Earle’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
