Obituary of LeRoy Wallace
Peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 LeRoy Odone Wallace of Strathroy passed after a brief illness at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, at the age of 95. Born January 3, 1922 in Lethbridge, Alberta to parents Harvey Iliff Wallace and Maria Wallace (nee Odone). Loving husband of the late Mary Wallace (nee Hummell) (1991). Beloved father of Maria (Richard) Cupples and Ruth (the late Martin) Quenneville. Predeceased by his much loved only son Iliff Wallace (1996). Dear grandfather of Arianne (Erik) Elmauer, Richard Cupples and Michelle Quenneville and great grandfather of Edwin and Everett Elmauer. Survived by his daughter-in-law Mary Anne Wallace and his sisters-in-law Mabel (Dick) Justus and Sheila Hummell. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. LeRoy was a lead airplane mechanic during WW2 in England. His specialty was the Lancaster Airplane. Longtime resident of Strathroy, he owned and operated L.O. Wallace Refrigeration Ltd for 40 years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY 519-245-1023 at a later date. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Four Counties Health Services Foundation, Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation or a charity of your choice. Maria and Ruth want to personally thank the entire staff of Newbury Hospital including nurse practitioner Terri Quayle for their loving compassionate care of their dad LeRoy.
