Obituary of Norma Albany
ALBANY, Norma Noreen- Passed away peacefully on Sunday December 10, 2017 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Howard George Albany. Loving mother of Paul and his wife Kim of Georgetown. Loving grandmother of Joel and his partner Jenna of Collingwood. Survived by her sister Elizabeth Arnold and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Sarah Dougall, brothers Girven and Lindsay. In her work life she was a talented and productive executive secretary spending a number of years working initially at Toronto City Hall and later in her career at the Ministry of Transportation. She had a zest for life and travel visiting relatives in Belfast Northern Ireland every year in the Fall. She relished the opportunity to spend time with her grandson Joel taking him on many excursions to the Toronto Zoo as well as sleep overs at her house. She was a long time supportive member of the congregation at St. Johns Anglican church in Weston. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bennett Health Care Center for providing excellent care for Noreen during her stay over the past 5 years. In lieu of flowers donations in her name would be appreciated to the Bennet Health Care Center, 1 Princess Anne Drive, Georgetown, Ontario. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 13th, 2017 at J.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home located at 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, 905-877-3631 at 10.00 am followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 am. An informal reception will be held at the funeral home in the Trafalgar Room prior to leaving for Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane Street, Concord, Ontario L4K 1A7 for the burial service and interment.
