Elsie loved to dance and that is where she met her husband Elmer. They were married on June 30th, 1934. Elsie was a wonderful homemaker who loved to sew, bake, can and was a spotless housekeeper. Everything was done to perfection. She was very devoted to her family and they meant the world to her. When her children were old enough to look after themselves she went out to work to help supplement the family income. She worked at The Spudnut Shop downtown for Mary & Peter Braun. When the Braun’s opened up Phil’s Pancake House, Elsie was their first waitress. From there she was employed by MacKenzie Drug Store and finished her career at O. B Allen Jewellers.
Elsie and Elmer’s travels consisted of visits to family members in: Bjorkdale, SK., Vancouver Island, BC, Portland, OR, USA, Estevan, SK., and one trip in 1976 to Los Angles with Elaine and Wilton.
After Elmer’s passing, Elsie had the opportunity to go on a tour to the Maritimes with her friends, Len & Frieda Gehring, which was the highlight of her travels.
At the age of 56, Elsie was predeceased by her husband Elmer of 36 years on December 8th, 1990. She was also predeceased by her grandson Kristopher Behiel; her parents, Joseph and Philippina (nee Dorn) Krassman, and her two brothers, Norman & Alex Krassman.
Elsie had a stoke on January 12th, 2000 which made a great change in her life. She moved from her home on Ross Street to a condo at Chinook Village. She made some wonderful friends there and enjoyed her condo that looked out over the beautiful courtyard. In July of 2013 she fell and broke her hip and she was beginning to experience some dementia which meant a move to a long term care facility. She was placed in The Good Samaritan’s Facility where she lived for a year and a half. In January 2015 she moved to the Riverview Care Facility where she received excellent care.
Elsie was a very caring and loving mother, wonderful grandmother and a delighted great-grandmother. Her family is very proud of her and will LOVE HER FOREVER!!!
