It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leo Delaney announce his passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre on Friday December 8th, 2017 at the age of 95 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, his four sons: Chris (Molly) in Hampton NB, Tony (Susan) in Elderbank NS, Percy (Rachelle) in St. John’s and Joe in Corner Brook, his three daughters: Therese Dykstra in Nanaimo BC, Tina (Dan) Shipley in Ottawa and Sandy (Wade) young in St. John’s, his nine grandchildren, his seven great-grandchildren, his three step-sons: Tony (Linda) Ballard in Truro NS, Phil (Linda) Ballard in Oakville ON and Jim (Rita) Ballard in Milton ON, his seven step-daughters: Linda (John) Coates in NS, Helen Ballard in Burlington ON, Theresa Ballard (Joe) in St. Georges, Mary (Gavin) Dunne in Burlington ON, Colleen Ballard (Clarke) in Burlington ON, Karen (Rick) Abbott in Caledon ON and Patti (Jason) Rogers in Burlington, his two sisters-in-law, Marie Delaney and Angela Delaney, his nineteen step-grandchildren, his seventeen step great- grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. In keeping with Leo’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Russell’s Funeral Home in Stephenville on Monday December 11th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday December 12th, 2017 at 3 pm from St. Stephen’s Parish on West Street. Inurnment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House in Toronto would be greatly appreciated.
