Gail Osborne
Osborne, Gail Nancy – age 83 of Dartmouth. It is with great sadness that we share the news of Mom’s passing on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Mom was born in South Woodside, on October 26, 1934 the youngest daughter of the late Gerald (Bucky) and Phyllis Osborne. Gail is survived by her sister Melva and predeceased by her sisters, Shirley and Fay, and her loving partner Harold Smith. Gail is survived by the father of her children, Buddy Ettinger. Mom will be greatly missed by her children, Deborah (Marc) Gauthier, Barry (Lauri), Derrick, Beth (Steve) Typhair, Roger (Dawn) and daughter-in-law Colette Belliveau; her grandchildren, Andrew (Beth), Natasha (Mark), Phillip (Jennifer), Mandy (Shankar), Christopher, Julian, Katelyn, Tarah, Kilby, Mathew, Morgan and her great-grandchildren, Hunter, Harlow, Grace, Jude, Sophie, Jack, Veda and all her nieces, nephews and their families. Mom will also be missed by her extended family, Margo (Robert), Hal, Paul (Angela), Robyn, Christopher (Colette) and their families. Our lives were enriched by the love she had for us all. Our mother Gail loved words and fine things, which enabled her to enjoy her many careers. She worked as a proofreader with the Vanguard and later at W.L. Harding Fine China in Yarmouth. Following her move back to Dartmouth she worked at Birks as a Gemologist and watch repair specialist. Her love of literature enabled her to outwit many crossword puzzles. Travel was a passion with trips to Alaska, Ireland, China, Hawaii, and Florida to name a few. Mom loved her home at 22 Circassion and will miss her friends there. A special thanks to We Care, the Dartmouth General doctors, nurses and staff in the Emergency, ICU and the third floor west who provided compassion and comfort to all of us. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10th between 2:00 – 4:00pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 11th at 11am in St. Albans Parish, 345 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth, Rev. Frances Drolet-Smith officiating.
