Obituary of Ray Sisson
RAY SISSON
April 12, 1928 – December 2, 2017
Ray passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Regina, SK. He was predeceased by his parents, Bertha and Bill Sisson of Assiniboia; sisters, Dorothy (in infancy) and Nora Thompson; brothers, Jack, Harry, Joe, Emmerton, and Frank; and in-laws, Bob and Edith Scott and Jack and Betty Scott. Ray will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Vera; children, Bill (Brenda) of Sakatoon, Pat (Tracy Johnston) of Toronto, Gordon (Lisa) of Regina, Douglas (Marnie) of Kelowna, and David (Crissie) of Saskatoon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Dana (Ryan), Matthew, Cameron (Caitlin), Kyle, Liam, Lukas, Joel, and Kiara; sister Muriel McDowell of Moose Jaw; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ray was immensely proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, and loved them all dearly. He was born in Assiniboia, SK and received his education there. Ray was employed for nearly 40 years as a salesman with Libby’s and then Nestle’s in both Thunder Bay, ON and Regina. He enjoyed playing cards, curling, travelling, boating, fishing, and camping, especially at Rowan’s Ravine. Many winters were spent in Apache Junction, Arizona, where lasting friendships were made. Ray was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Regina and a former elder. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of the Emergency Department and fourth floor of the Pasqua Hospital, East wing of Sunset Extendicare, and to Dr. D. Mbanza. Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street, Regina, SK on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donation in memory of Ray may be made to a charity of choice.
