Hilda Hiscoe
1923-2017
With her family by her side, Hilda Hiscoe passed away peacefully at
the Victoria Glen Manor on the morning of December 4, 2017.
Hilda was born in Tilley, NB, on November 15, 1923. She was the
daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Grossette) O’Neil. Hilda
leave behind her sons, Wayne Roach (Doreen) of Aroostook, NB, Richard
Roach (Sandra) of Oromocto, NB; her grandchildren, Jeff, Shelley,
Seth, Erik, and Melanie; her great grandchildren, Kate and Jack; her
sister, Ora Ryan of Florida; her brother, Wallace O’Neil of Pocologan,
NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Hilda was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Lawrence
Roach (1963); her second husband, Noel Hiscoe (1995); her daughter,
Caroline Roach; her sisters, Nellie, Georgina, Mary, Anna Marie; her
brothers, Raymond, Marvin, Bernard, and Norman.
Hilda was and avid volunteer. She received the Paul Harris Fellow for
her many years of volunteering at Victoria Glen Manor. Hilda was also
a member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Hilda loved to quilt, knit, and sew. She donated many of her creations
to different charities in the community. She loved to garden and was a
fantastic cook and entertained her family on any and every occasion.
She was a loving and generous person to all her friends and
family.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from
2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 7,
2017 at 11 am from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Aroostook, NB.
Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrating. Interment will follow in the
parish cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic
Church or to the NB Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover.
Hilda’s family would like to offer a special heartfelt THANK YOU to
all the staff of the Victoria Glen Manor for the care they have given
Hilda over the past several years. Your caring actions and attention
to details will never be forgotten.
