Obituary of Peter Waugh
Waugh, Peter Cyril E. (ret’d) – Belnan, crossed the bar on November 30, 2017 to reunite with his late parents, William Waugh and Christine Groulx; sisters, Margaret Rose and Dorothy; brother, Robert; and son, Allan.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Margaret (Michael); granddaughter, Rhonda; brothers, Jack and Frank; sisters, Gail, Thora and Carol Ann; neighbours, Navy buddies and Litton co-workers.
Peter served his country for 10 years in the electrical branch of the Royal Canadian Navy. As crew onboard the HMCS Iroquois, he was present at Kingston, Jamaica on Independence Day. He then joined the workforce of Litton as an electronics engineer. After retirement in 2004, he spent many leisurely hours working his model railroad, walking the dog, and watching his favourite old-time movies.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Barbara will receive family and friends in the Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Hwy 2, Shubenacadie on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Canon David Fletcher will officiate the memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan.
Special thanks to the staff of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro who provided excellent care and comfort to Peter during his final days.
