A resident of Chatham, Gladys peacefully passed away at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in her 92nd year with family at her side.
Born in England on July 18, 1925, Gladys traveled to Canada in 1946 until 1948, finally immigrating here in 1960.
Daughter of the late Thomas & Catherine Crompton of Manchester, England.
Beloved mother of the late Brenda Lee (2011), Jeannette Erdie (Dan) of Chatham, Cherie Cowell (Sean) of Strathroy, Barbara Bueckert (Nick) of Wallaceburg, Charles Cowell (Barbra) of Gowganda, Marilyn Chappelle (David) of Reece’s Corner & Margaret Woudenberg of Dresden.
Grandma of Krista, Kevin, Tyler, Trevor, Taylor, Matthew, Megan, Nicholas, Catherine, Connie, Charles, Candice, David, & Nathan.
Great-grandma of Jordan, Kaidance, Kassidi, Hunter, Kennedy, Hanna, Jayla, Ethan, the late Keira, Lacey, Ryder, Trinity, Alexis & Danika.
Predeceased by brothers, Charles, Bill & Eric of Manchester, England.
Missed always by nephew, Kevin & niece Erica of Manchester, England.
Gladys always enjoyed spending time with her family, her greatest joy. She was an avid fan of live entertainment & following the Royal Family.
With keeping with Gladys’ wishes, cremation has taken place with a Private Family Interment to take place on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
In memory of Gladys, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
