Obituary for Roger Davis
Peacefully on Thursday November 23, 2017 at the Stedman Hospice, Brantford. Roger Davis, of Burford, in his 87th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Edith (nee Shearer). Loved father of Brenda (Don) Kersey, son-in-law John (Sandy) Burke, Floyd (Kim) Davis, Gail (Jim) Miner, Jerry (Wendy) Davis. Also loved by grandchildren Scott, Stephen (Tina), Erin (Steve), Alycia (Steve), Jamie (Alicia), Ryan, Colton (Annie), Jacquie (Dallas), Evan (Allie), Carson. Also by his beloved 14 great-grandchildren. Brother of Margaret and brother-in-law to Norma. Predeceased by his daughter Elaine, granddaughter Kaitlyn, brother Lorne, sister-in-law Anne and brother-in-law Harold. Son of the late Margaret & Shirley Davis and son-in-law of the late Ott & Leta Shearer. Roger will be sadly missed by his many family & friends.
Roger owned and operated Davis Fuels for more than sixty years and was very generous with his community and Bethel Church where he was a lifelong member.
Friends & family will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford, Ontario on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Bethel Stone United Church, 154 Bethel Road, Paris on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment Pioneer Cemetery, Burford. As expressions of sympathy donations in Roger’s memory may be made to Bethel Stone United Church, Stedman Hospice, Juravinski Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice. www.keithovington.ca 519-449-1112
