Obituary for Marilyn Joyce Simpson (McKain)
MARILYN JOYCE SIMPSON
1949 – 2017
It is with great sadness the family of Marilyn Joyce Simpson announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer on November 20, 2017 at the age of 68 years.
Marilyn was born May 10, 1949 the only daughter to Harry and Joyce McKain. She grew up on the family farm in Kevisville, Alberta. Marilyn attended University in Calgary where she received her licensed practical nursing. In 1969 she married Stan Simpson and they resided in Innisfail for 48 years.
Family was Marilyn’s number one priority. You could find her travelling across the countryside to cheer on her kids and later on her grandkids in all the sports and activities they did. She loved to gather as a family and holidays were always very important to her. Family was everything!
Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years Stan, their children Dwayne (Patty), Rhonda (Jeff), grandchildren Riley, Bailey, Shae-Lynn, Cassidy and Ryan. Her father Harry McKain, brothers Gerry (Laurie) and Brian (Deanna). She was predeceased by her mother Joyce and brother Bob. Marilyn will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life in memory of Marilyn will be held at the Innisfail Library (5300 55 St Cl) on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
