Freda Mary Frizzell
Freda was born on August 31, 1939 in O’Leary, Prince Edward Island. When she was young she was a constant companion, and supporter of her younger brother Garfield MacMillan. When she was in her teens she met and
married her husband Delmar and they moved together to Jasper, Alberta after the birth of their first son Robert in 1957. Freda was a server at the Athabasca Hotel in Jasper as well as a devoted wife and mother to her growing family. Later she and Delmar moved the family to Calgary, Alberta and she began a successful career as an Executive Assistant for Ron Southern, the director of the Atco Group where she was also very involved with Spruce Meadows. After her retirement she devoted her life to being a hands on Grandmother. She helped each grandchild with homework, attended all sporting events, clubs, piano recitals, dance classes, and organized amazing summer and winter trips to Sylvan Lake, British Columbia, various ski hills as well as Disney Land. Our Nan was an exemplary woman who radiated love, passion and care for other people. She was always willing to help and guide those in her life; she was truly selfless. Everyone that was lucky enough to cross paths with her was left in awe at her true beauty and kindness. After her diagnosis of Progressive Supranucular Palsy she was cared for in her home by her family and was still able to enjoy her family with trips to Prince Edward Island and British Columbia. As the disease progressed she was never without the constant stream of loving family members and friends who visited the home often. Not a day will go by that we won’t miss her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Love you Nan, forever and a day. A viewing will be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home and Reception Centre on Sunday November 19, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00pm as well as Monday November 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm. Her service will be held at 1:00pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of donations the family are accepting flowers ordered through Growers Direct, ACADIA, Attention: Judy, 341 Heritage Dr. S.E.
