Barr, Bessie Ella – Age 87 of Stewiacke, passed away November 14, 2017, in Vimy Court, Bible Hill. Born in East Gore, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Della (Wile) Moore.
Bessie enjoyed spending time at any baseball field or hockey rink in the area. There were times her family knew not to interrupt her with a visit when the game was on. She enjoyed travelling with her sister, Nellie.
Her family and grandchildren were here greatest joy and she will always be missed by husband, Stewart; daughters, Debbie MacPhee, Cindy Barr; sons, Jamie, Donnie (Grace); 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson. She was predeceased by son-in-law, David MacPhee; siblings, Ervin, Percy, Nellie, Dora, Lena.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 24 at 2 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village, Rev. Angus MacDonald officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff of Vimy Court, who were like family, for their kind, compassionate care given to Bessie during her seven-year stay with them. Their care of everyone involved was phenomenal.
