William Arthur “Bill” Hennigar, of
Stellarton, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Aberdeen
Hospital, New Glasgow. Born March 22, 1950 in New Glasgow, he was the
son of the late Jim and Gladys Hennigar of
Stellarton.
He is survived by his children David, Calgary and
Abigail “Abbi”, Halifax. He is also survived by his
siblings Scott (Marla), Kentville , Margie (Gary) Powers, Stewiacke
East, Elizabeth, Ottawa, Howie (Kelly) Stellarton, and Ted (Mary Lou),
Fall River, his mother-in-law Marguerite “Margie”
Fraser, many brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews,
and his beloved golden retriever Annie.
He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years Barbara,
his parents Jim and Gladys, father-in-law Robert
“Bert” Fraser, and brother-in-law David
Fraser.
His family would like to thank the nurses and support
care workers of VON Pictou County, Robert Fraser, the staff and nurses
of the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit, as well as Dr.
McFarland, Dr. Ago, Dr. Jeans, and Dr. Kwasnik for the support and
care provided throughout his illness.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November
19 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel in
Stellarton. His memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November
20 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Gairloch with Bonnie
Langille and Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Donations in
Bill’s memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care
Society, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Gairloch, or a
charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be sent to
