Obituary of Salomé Bertrand (nee Horth)
Salomé Horth Bertrand passed away peacefully on November 11, 2017, in Sherbrooke Québec, at the age of 100 years. She was born on March 22, 1917 in Paspébiac Québec to parents Xavier and Marguerite Horth. Salomé and her long-time partner and husband, Oswald Bertrand had 7 wonderful children. She is survived by sons, Dalma (Eileen), Bernard (Joyce) and Daniel (Connie), daughter Huguette Schorn (Gunter) and son-in-law Roger Rousseau. She was predeceased by Oswald Bertrand, her loving husband of 63 years, infant daughter Marie, daughters Giselè Rousseau and Raymonde Kenchington and son-in-law Michael Kenchington.
Salomé will always be fondly remembered for her kindness and devotion to family. She lived life to the fullest and was happiest when surrounded by family. She so enjoyed visiting loved ones and took great pleasure in traveling to see them. She was blessed with 13 wonderful grandchildren, often taking care of them, talking to them, laughing with them and mentoring them. Her greatest pride were her 19 great-grandchildren.
It brings us comfort to know that she was gently called by our Heavenly Father and is now with her beloved Oswald.
Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 195 rue Principale, Fort Coulonge, on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 6-9 pm and Saturday from 9:30-10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pierre Church on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:30 am. Interment parish cemetery
