Obituary of Gwen (Hicks) Thomas
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gwendolyn Ann Thomas announces her passing on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, at the age of 73.
Gwen was born on June 21, 1944 in Sackville, N.B. She was the daughter of the late Olga Hicks.
Gwen was an avid crafter and made many hooked rugs and wall hangings, which are proudly displayed in her families homes. She also enjoyed Saturday morning yard sales, craft fairs, reading, sewing and her hand crafted Christmas ornaments were second to none. Gwen was kind, compassionate and very giving to all who knew her.
Gwen will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Trevor; her children, Troy (Cherie Forsyth-Johnston) and Erica (Aaron Levangie); her grandson, Tyler Thomas; her sister, Deb (John Black) ; her special niece, Lisa Lamb; her nephew, Andrew Black (Kathy Treash), as well as by the special children in her life, Freia, Phaedra and Roman.
Besides her mother, she was pre-deceased by her sister, Gail and by her nephew, Cale.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Gwen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.
