In Loving Memory
BECK, Charlene Elva (nee Hobbs) – It is with tearful sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother,
step-mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, at her home in Burlington with her children by her side on Nov 09, 2017 in her 82nd year. She is predeceased by her first husband of 44 years Lorne Beck, and her second husband Emmanuel Drapkin her parents William and Mildred Hobbs and sister Marie Michaud.
She will be sadly missed by her 3 children Mary Ellen (Andre Gauthier), Edward (Lorna) and Bill.
Cherished Gramma to Edward, Logan, Chris (Mona), Kyle and great grandson Noah.
Survived by her brother Edward (Marjorie) Hobbs and sister Helen (the late Ron) Furry.
She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Charlene was a kind soul who loved her family dearly and cherished family gatherings. Her favorite past-times included knitting, crocheting, going for daily walks and playing cards with friends and family. She is now at peace and with her Savior Jesus Christ.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to Dr. Kim Walsh, nurse Sharon and the staff at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton.
In keeping with Charlene’s wishes cremation has taken place. Her family will receive friends at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy #20) 905-892-1699 on Tues Nov 14th from 10:00 – 11:00 am. A Celebration of her Life will take place in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am with inurnment to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation will be appreciated by her family.
