Joan Marie, age 83, of Antigonish, passed
away November 9, 2017 in St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital.
Born in Antigonish she was the daughter of the
late Harold and Louise (MacInnis) MacPhie
Joan was a wonderful cook and she loved her
flower garden. She also loved to knit. Her grandchildren, and many
other people’s grandchildren, were the recipients of her
lovely sweaters and mittens.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years,
Malcolm; children, James (Veronica), Lakevale; Hughie (Carol)
Lakevale; Carmen, Cape George, Linda (Donald) MacDonald, Somers Road;
Darlene (Reggie) MacEachern, Cape George; Sandy, Cape George; ten
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Harold James
(Patsy), Cape George; sisters, Doris Fox, Chicago, Anne (Ray)
MacDonald, Arisaig, Gladys (Jimmy) MacGillivray, William’s
Point.
Predeceased by sister, Janet Murphy; brothers
John M., Billy, and Leonard MacPhie.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be
held on Saturday, November 11th at 2:00 pm in Holy Rosary Church,
Ballantyne’s Cove with Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding.
Burial in the parish cemetery. Luncheon to follow in North Shore Fire
Hall, Marsh Road.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made
