Obituary Overview
In Memory of Florence
On Thurs Nov. 2nd 2017, Florence Mildred White completed her earthly journey and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born in Moncton, NB on August 18, 1933, she was daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha (Ferguson) Godsoe. She graduated from Atlantic Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Education when she was 60 years young.
The last surviving member of her family, Florence was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Dorothy, Francis, Alice, and Ella, and brothers Robert and Ernest who passed in childhood.
Florence is survived by daughter Deborah of Rothesay and sons Wayne (Arlene) of Cole Harbour, Brian (Kimberly) of Rothesay, Keith (Brenda) of Traralgon, Australia, and Shawn (Beverly) of Bluefield, Virginia; beloved grandchildren Samuel, Abigail, Neil, Paul, Isaac, Scott, Celia, Brent, Alexander, Benjamin, Hannah, and Jacob; several nieces and nephews.
Florence started her lifetime of travel in July 1952 with a trip to Gimli, MB to wed Herman Roy White with whom she continued her journeys (BC, France, ON, Germany, and Boundary Creek, NB) until his passing in 1997. From her new home base with her daughter in Woodstock, Florence enjoyed visiting her children and grandchildren all over the world. At 75, she even managed to view part of the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia in a submersible. Florence took her final journey with her Lord holding her hand. She continuously prayed that her loved ones will take the same journey someday.
The passing of our dear Mom, Grammie, and friend has left a void that only the grace of God and many fond memories can fill. Jesus answered “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV
We wish to thank the caring folks at the Dr. VA Snow Centre in Hampton who did everything they could to make Florence’s journey from this space to the next as gentle as possible.
A graveside service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, on Thur Nov 16th, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
Donations in Florence’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Acadia Divinity College, or Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton, NB.
