Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on Monday, November 6, 2017. Alexander (Googie) Furlong age 84 years. Predeceased by his brother Francis and sister Christina. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Elsie (Shute), two sons Wayne (Paula) and Gary (Ina); four daughters Sharon (Kjell), Lynn (Mike), Renee (Bill) and Christa (William), ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Jim Shute-deceased (Irene), Leo Shute (Doreen) and John Shute (Bev); sisters-in-law Isabelle Caines-deceased (Max-deceased), Bridie Kean (Mike), Diane Wiseman (Rob), Loretta Pitts (Art), Lorraine Shute-deceased. Also, a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Knights of Columbus, Terra Nova Council 1452 and the Geraldine Rubia Center. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Tuesday from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 noon – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to CNIB.
