Obituary of Laura Brown
Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Friday afternoon, November 3rd, 2017. Laura Anne Brown (nee McCartney), of Owen Sound, at the age of 89 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Melbourne Brown for 65 years. Loving mother of Ken Brown and his wife, Carrie, John Brown, Cam Brown and Marjorie Flarity and her husband, Ron, all of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Wesley (Jennifer), Alisha (Brodie), Matthew (Holly), Melissa (Eric), Tammy, Sandy (Matt) and great-grandmother of Kylo, Bo, MacKenzie and C.J. Dear sister of Ray McCartney (Evelyn), of Kilsyth and Anne Barfoot, of Shallow Lake. Laura will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, George and Mary McCartney; her siblings, Albertha Dickie (Orr), Bill McCartney (Isabel), Harold McCartney (Ruth), Viola McCartney, Verda Smith (Charles), Cliff McCartney (Florence), Alfred McCartney, Beatrice Monahan (Ross); her brother-in-law, Larry Barfoot.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Laura Brown will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday afternoon, November 8th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tina Drysdale officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Crossroads Victory Church as an expression of sympathy.
