James “Jim” Tower
1948-2017
It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of James “Jim” Ronald Tower
Sr., age 69 of Amherst. James passed away
suddenly on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, while spending time in the
woods that he loved so dearly.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the
late Ronald and Inez (Cole) Tower.
Jim loved the woods, driving around on
his 4-wheeler and spending time at the camp in Collingwood hunting and
fishing. He always looked forward to Maple Sugar season,
when he’d head to the woods for a walk, enjoying the sights, sounds
and smells of spring. He adored his family and spending time
with them. When he wasn’t home, he was sitting in his lawn
chair in his son-in-law’s garage, listening to the bluegrass music he
loved so much, and just puttering around.
He will be dearly missed by his wife
Margaret, Amherst, children James “Jimmy” Jr., Amherst and
Joan (Alan) Weeks, Amherst, NS; 2 grandchildren, Meghan (Cody) Sutton,
Amherst and Kelsey Weeks, Amherst, NS; great grandson Wyatt Sutton;
sister Deb (Alfred) O’Brien, Amherst; several nieces and nephews;
close friends Greg and Amanda Belliveau of Collingwood.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will be held on
Monday from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday from Noon until 2 pm, followed
immediately at 2 pm by the funeral service, Rev. Don Miller
officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst
Cemetery.
