Born in Toi Shan, China. Jim was a resident of Calgary, Alberta and formerly of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. He passed away peacefully at the age of 85 years on October 25, 2017.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sanda Wan Fong Pon; and his parents, Bing Doon and Oi Gee Pon.
He leaves behind his sons, Douglas and Edward; daughter, Susie (Andrew); grandchildren, Caleb and Kaitlyn; sisters, Selina (Colin) and Tammy (Jack); brother-in-law, George (Cecilia) and sister-in-law, Kam (Douglas) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017, from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at Connelly McKinley Funeral Home. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wildrose Chapel, Connelly McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street NW, Edmonton. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, 14611 Mark Messier Trail (formerly St Albert Trail), Edmonton, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calgary Health Trust, #800, 11012 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB, T2J 6A5 or to the Mazankowski Heart Institute, c/o University of Alberta Hospital Foundation, 8440 – 112 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7.
