It is with a heavy heart that the family of William “Neil” Duff announce his passing on October 9, 2017 at 69 years of age. Neil will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marlene; his sister Nancy; brother David (Elly); his children Shae (Paul), Scott and Brindy; his six grandchildren Scott, Chelsea, Danny, Kyle, Taygen and Nicholas as well as his father in law Nick (Eva); Sister and Brother-in-law Cheryl and Dave; Aunt Norma Duff and his beloved nieces and nephew Katherine (Dave), Megan (Scott),… Erin (Ryan), Rebecca, Tommy and Katie.
Neil was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Marion and William Duff on September 10, 1948. He graduated from Victoria Composite High School and attended the Alberta School of Fine Arts, later in his life he earned a diploma in Marketing from SAIT. Neil loved the aviation business and began his career with Pacific Western Airlines, followed by Canadian Airlines and finally Air Canada where he retired with 33 years of service.
An avid fan of NASCAR and Rodeo, Neil volunteered for a number of years with the Calgary Stampede Royalty Trio, Millarville Rodeo, Ellensburg Rodeo and Baker City.
His cousin Rob wrote “Cowboy, rodeo rider, mountaineer, ski patrolman, sport fisherman, airline guy, hunter, rancher, leather artist, fence builder, NASCAR enthusiast, Dad and Husband. He was an unabashed red neck but secretly an artist with a poet’s soul. Loud, opinionated, openhearted, generous and garrulous. Interested in all life had to offer and tried much of it.
