Harrison, Madeleine E. – peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, October 14th, 2017. Madeleine Harrison of Belleville and formerly of Stoney Creek, in her 92nd year. Daughter of the late George and Mary Patterson. Wife of the late Carman F. Harrison. Loving mother of Laurel Harrison (Barry Brown) of Carrying Place and David (Wilhelmina) Harrison of Toronto. Devoted grandma of Lucas (Mairead), Mitchell, Kathryn, and Rebecca and great grandma to Bowie. Madeleine is predeceased by her brothers, Alan and Hugh Patterson and by her sisters, Enid Frankton and Ruth Watson. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Madeleine lived as a creative and passionate artist, traveler and educator – from her beautiful paintings, pottery and gardens to the unforgettable memories she co-created with family and friends. She will be remembered by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as a loving and compassionate woman who dedicated herself to enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to be around her. A Memorial Service will be held at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West (613-968-2273) on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Following the service there will be an opportunity to share memories of Madeleine with the family at a reception held at the Steele Family Centre adjacent to the funeral home. Private Inurnment at Maple Vale Cemetery, Smiths Falls at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations to the CNIB would be appreciated by the family.
