Obituary of Howard Schofield
SCHOFIELD, Howard Richard- age 84 of MacPhees Corner, passed away peacefully in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on October 12, 2017.
Born in Gaspereau Valley, he was a son of the late Truman and Eva Schofield. He had a 40 year career with NS Power as a Construction Supervisor. Upon retirement, Howard enjoyed gardening, attending country jamborees, working in the woods and going to card parties.
He will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Marion (Nelson); his four sons, Michael (Debbie), Brian (Sonia), Tim (Joan), Jeff (Judy); grandchildren, Tomas (Karissa), Matthew, Bradley, Libby, Samantha, Maggie and Ryan; step grandson, Geoffrey Ratchford; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Marjorie, Dorothy, Ralph and Raymond.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Monday, October 16 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie from where a funeral service will take place 2pm Tuesday, October 17, Rev. Martin Reid officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment to take place at a later date.
Thank you to the staff of Unit 3E at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for the compassion and care you provided to us and to Howard. Thank you as well to the homecare workers who came into our home over the last year.
Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
